Price & Maturity Alerts
What it does
Alerts let you set automatic notifications for two types of bond events:
- Maturity alert — notify you N days before a bond in your portfolio matures, so you have time to plan reinvestment.
- Coupon alert — notify you N days before the next coupon payment date, so you can plan cash flow or tax payments.
Active triggered alerts appear as a numbered badge on the Alerts menu item in the sidebar, so you never miss an upcoming event even if you haven't visited the alerts page.
When to use it
- Setting a 30-day maturity alert on each bond you own — gives you a month to research reinvestment options before the proceeds land.
- Setting a 7-day coupon alert — useful if you need to plan for the WHT deduction or budget around the incoming cash.
- Tracking multiple bonds across different maturity dates without manually checking the portfolio every week.
Real-life scenario
Staying ahead of three upcoming events
You hold FXD1/2026/2 (matures Feb 2026), FXD1/2028/5, and IFB1/2031/12. You set a 30-day maturity alert on the 2026 bond and 7-day coupon alerts on all three. In January 2026, the sidebar shows a "1" badge — your first alert has triggered.
Example alert list
| Alert Type | Bond | Trigger | Days Before | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maturity | FXD1/2026/2 | 19 Feb 2026 | 30 days | Triggered — 18 days remaining |
| Coupon | FXD1/2028/5 | 17 Mar 2026 | 7 days | Pending |
| Coupon | IFB1/2031/12 | 15 Jun 2026 | 7 days | Pending |
Column reference
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Alert Type | Maturity (principal repayment date) or Coupon (next interest payment date). |
| Trigger Date | The bond event date that the alert is counting down to. |
| Days Before | How many days before the trigger date the alert activates. |
| Status | Triggered = the alert is currently active (within the days-before window). Pending = not yet triggered. |
Limitations
- Alerts are checked on page load — there are no push notifications or emails. You need to visit the app to see triggered alerts.
- Coupon dates are computed from bond data. If a bond's original settlement date is incorrect in the database, the coupon schedule and alerts may be off by one period.
- Alerts do not auto-dismiss — a triggered alert remains shown until you manually deactivate it from the alerts page.
